Choosing a background for your boutique flat lay doesn't have to be challenging OR expensive!
If you are confident about your brand's aesthetic and know who your ideal customer is, you're ready to find the perfect background to help you master the art of the flat lay.
I've put together a list of 5 backgrounds you can snag right now under $50
1. Collapsible Photo Background
Looking for a simple white background? This collapsible photo background is light weight and easy to store--great for those working from home or in a multi-purpose space!
2.) Vinyl Photography Backdrop
There are so many options to choose from online, but a simple vinyl background will look realistic and will also lay nice and flat on the floor! This background can easily be rolled up and stored away, so it's also great for multi-purpose rooms.
3.) Laminate Flooring
Purchased at any DIY home store, laminate floor planks can be arranged on the floor or glued to a pre cut piece of particle board. The planks are available in almost any color of wood to match your brand's aesthetic. The down side to this type of background is these can be heavy and difficult to store. (I personally use this type of background!)
4.) Rolled Paper
Available in numerous colors, rolled paper can make an excellent flat lay background. If your background gets damaged, just cut it off and unravel a little bit more (perks of rolled paper!) It's also easy to store away in a closet when you don't need it.
While solid panels may be more difficult to store and move than the paper and collapsible backgrounds, they usually contain more texture and richness in color. Available at any of your DIY home stores, these panels can often be custom cut for you in store to your liking. They come in a variety of textures such as bead board, wood, shiplap, brick, and numerous others.
